    To my mind it was the Hand of Fate, because i do not believe in coincidence. All in this world is not coincidence. There was a lot of Green Doors, but he opened door with poor girl inside. So it was exellent exemple of the Hand of Fate.

    Yes, i agree with Masha. I think that it was the Hand of Fate, because he not only chose right door, but also he was a realy good detective who had got intuition. It helped him to find this poor girl. But if it was coincidence l would like to have many coincidences which would be so necessary and needed for someone.

    I think it was just a coincidence. Negro handed out passers-by cards with the name of theatrical play and dentist's cards. And Rudolph got two identical cards with the inscription "Green Door" by chance.

    In my mind it was more like coincidence than the hand of fate. But we need to understand that this is just a story. Maybe its partly truth, but I'm not sure. Nevertheless Rudolf helped the poor girl. Maybe it was just a fortune, or maybe not. Who knows, who knows?)?)?)

    In my opinion, it was a hand of fate. Because every action in our world happens for a reason. Moreover, the Negro gave him a special card twice.Also he  chose the right door and that's why he found this poor girl. So, I think it was the hand of fate.

    In my opinion, it was a hand of fate. because coincidences are very rare these days. There were a lot of green doors, but he opened the door he needed, in which there was a poor girl and his wonderful intuition helped him. So, I think it was the hand of fate.

    I don't believe in fate.Everybode makes them future by themselves.In this case,Rudolf wanted to find love,adventure or something like this.It was his choice.And when he looked at this card he saw the sing,that was created by himself.So,it wasn't the hand of fate or coincidence.

    Human psychology doesn't afford us to live without belief on smth supernatural. If you want to know, I am agnostic, so I don't believe in everything until it has an incontestable proof. All our life is a row of coincidences, because nothing and no one could predict every tiny or great choice of people. Situation, that has happened to Rudolf, is only a consequence of Rudolf's craving for adventures and foolishness.

    in my opinion, it was a hand of fate, because as we know there is no escape from fate and it can turn in our direction at any moment. So fate not gave him girls, that would he met her. A coincidence was when Negro gave him two identical card.

    I think it was more the Hand of Fate in it. There was too big number of coincidences. It was impossible. He could just throw the card, he could just not notice strange words on it, he could just open any other door in the house, cause they all were green. He met the girl only after a certain sequence of events. That's why I think that it was the Hand of Fate.

    In my opinion it was just a coincidence...
    Rudolf was a "true adventurer" (But I think he is fool, who try to find sense in senseless things) So, in my mind he was lucky (or maybe not) idiot...
    P.s. Offf, I think i will get 2 in next lesson, because I wrote this comment.

    I think it was fate because there were all the doors green but the detective decided to choose exactly that door behind which was a girl he had been looking for so long.

    I think that it was the head of fate, because there aren't random coincidences in our life! Everything is intertwined. Not just a writer wrote 'it was this face he had been looking for'. He was wait something like this on an unconscious level in his mind.So fate gave him a present and save this pretty girl.

    For my point of view it is the head of fate. Because i do not realy belive in fate, but in this situation there are to many coincidences.
    For example the name of the theatre program Green Door and green colored doors...

    Each of us is given the choice of which path to go and what results await us from this walk. Each person decides his own fate. Personally, I don’t believe in the Hand of Fate, and I think that in life there is nothing fortuitous, everything that happens to us is all natural and, in most cases, due to us.
    So it is with Rudolph. If he hadn’t purposefully been looking for adventure, he would never have paid attention to the map with mysterious words, wouldn’t have went up to the top floor of the building, wouldn’t go through that green door and would never meet a girl. (Klimovich Daria)

    I don't really believe in the Hand of fate. So I belive, that if something strange, or something that can change our life happens, it is an coincidence. But sometimes these "coincidences" are so unimaginable, that people call it FATE, because they can't explain it. Well, everyone has their own opinion.
    I think that it was a coincidence in this story. But no one knows how this "incident" can affect on the future life of the main character.

    I believe that this is a very big parodox of coincidence or fate, as a man, in search of adventure, he wanted to find "The green door" without thinking about anything. On the one hand, this is a coincidence because when he entered the house, he saw a green door and the note was the same. On the other hand, this is fate, since he stayed on the top floor, where he found the unfortunate girl who needs help. If you think about it, it’s fate to meet a person who needs help. It seems like someone was controlling him to help a starving girl . This story is very interesting and after reading, you are visited by philosophical thoughts: "Is this a coincidence or a fate?" This is the most exciting story I've read.(Elina Yukhnevich)

    I think that it was the Hand of Fate because coincidences are too impossible in story,I can’t assert that only this theory is right, fortuities and coincidences do still occur,but I believe in fate and think that it’s good example of it.

    I believe that it was the Hand of Fate. Each person himself decides his fate with his choices and decisions. So Rudolph was a true adventurer and it wasn't first time when he make such decisions. I think that when he was near the door he had the feeling that he had chosen the right door. In my openion this is not just a coincidence and the fate of Rudolph.

    In my opinion it was a coincidence. Our whole world is built on coincidences. It can't be a coincidence only if something what happened was conceived. The hand of fate was invented by naive people. And I think that this is just a coincidence, because I don't believe in "Hand of Fate"

    I think that it was just a coincidence, because I don`t believe in fate. What is mean fate? Fate is nothing but luck, which supposedly should lead you to something. I think that since this is a thing that no one can scientifically prove. So it is simply stupid to believe in fate.
